Community Murals

In Autumn 2021, Awenek Studio created a corridor mural with Fourlanesend Primary School. It was a collaborative project with the children – a colourful and characterful painting of the places they called home and things that made it special to them. The children were involved in the design process and the painting of the mural with the guidance of resident studio artists Rosie French and Helen Kuumbi along with volunteer artist Will Brewster.

We’ve now embarked upon a bigger and more complex mural! This time we are at Mount Edgcumbe Country House to create another collaboration that will tell the story of the Rame Peninsula from its geological origins to the modern day. The piece will be 52ft long! Designed by our resident artists, local school children, as well as home-educated children, will be adding their own elements to the mural.

Check back to see how the project is looking or head down to Mount Edgcumbe this summer.
