A walk and talk, outdoor sketching and art activities, and an introduction to drawing mediums and techniques.
Visit the impressive 18th centaury fortification ‘Redoubt no. 5’ which sits between Maker Heights and Mount Edgcumbe with panoramic views. Local historian, John Manley, will be you guide to the history of the site. Our walk there will take in views of the other Redoubts and give some context to the site. We will spend a couple hours inside number five so you have time to draw and have lunch. As well as the fort offering a hidden time capsule, there are fantastic landscape views from the gun platforms.
Bring a packed lunch/snacks, hot drinks will be provided. We will be walking over rough ground so please wear suitable footwear and outdoor clothing. If you have concerns about access/fitness please get in touch and we can organise meeting you partway through the walk.
