IN-HOUSE WORKSHOPS & SOCIAL GROUPS
Open studios and creative cuppa: every Tuesday and Thursday morning
Our doors are open every Tuesday and Thursday morning 10am-12pm for a creative cuppa. Bring your own craft project or sketchbook and make yourself at home, pay-as-you-feel hot-drinks.
Creative Learning Lab – Weekly on Mondays during term time
During school terms, we run weekly home education workshops called ‘Creative Learning Lab’ for children between the ages of 5 and 15. It is a relaxed, creative, cross-curricular session, with different activities to suit a range of ages and abilities. There is a different topic each half term and where possible we link with other organisations to add expertise or depth to the provision. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to find out how we might facilitate any individual needs.
Paint Jam – First Thursday of the month
A monthly group for people who like to paint and draw. All abilities are welcome. A chance to learn, create and share. Give your artist self a monthly check-in and a date with the easel. A warm-up first half with a hands-on demo or activity shared by the host artists and time to paint, draw and work on your own artwork in a relaxed and social space.
Creative Baby and Toddler- last Wednesday of the month
Creative play for under-5s – with a different theme each month, crafts parent and baby can make together, sensory play and things to explore.
Ladies’ Craft Circle – monthly, second Friday
Your alternative Friday girls’ night ‘out out’ on the Peninsula! Come along, bring a friend (or three) and your drink of choice. We’ll provide the project, materials and the music! You can join in, or bring your own project to work on (think Knit and Natter, or Stitch and… Socialise).
“Awenek Studio is an incredibly important space for people in the community. it provides everything from creative workshops to meditation workshops in a lovely historic building no less. Rosie is highly professional in how she runs the studio and is a joy to work with; thoroughly recommended.“

HOME EDUCATORS’ FACILITY & ART STUDY SPACE
The studio is set up with enough tables and chairs of all sizes to accommodate up to 20 participants in art and craft activities. We run regular sessions with local home-educated children and their carers who come up with ideas and tell us what they would like to learn which we provide for them. Working with groups of home-educators keeps material and resources cost-affordable for everyone to be able to join in as often as they would like.
The space is ideal for older students or teenagers studying GCSE or A-Level Art. Students can hire the studio in small groups with the parents’/carers’ permission, knowing that they have a safe and quiet place to study where they can paint, create and make a mess without it being on your kitchen table! Additionally, one of our team is an experienced student support worker who can guide students with their portfolio or presentation of their work if need be.
Please get in touch to find out more about making use of this wonderful facility, specifically created for arts and crafts. It’s a perfect place for learning together.
PRIVATE HIRE & ARTY PARTIES
Our studio, in its relaxing setting of natural beauty surrounded by seascapes and coastal views, is a wonderful place to hire as a retreat. If you’re an artist or a small group of people that would like to participate in an art project together, you can use the studio as your base with all appropriate materials and equipment on hand. We have kitchen and bathroom facilities at the studio for your added convenience.
Arty parties can be provided for all ages, with a tutor to guide you through your creative projects. Hire prices are tailored for each project depending on your needs.
Please enquire with your ideas and book yourself a relaxing art and craft occasion to celebrate. We can do anything from Christmas decorations, printing, decoupage and rug making, to eco-friendly natural children’s parties and everything in between.
AWENEK IN SCHOOLS
The Awenek Studio team can facilitate a wide range of art activities and workshops within schools.
We can provide extra-curricular art groups for both children and their carers or in-lesson painting and drawing classes.
We can attend school family fun days and help with interactive arts and crafts activities to bring the community together with your school.
We can also help with the revamping of display boards and signs around your school and even help with backdrops for school plays.
Get in touch to speak to us about any ideas you may have for linking your school with your local community and arts in your area.
